ASU, Tillman Foundation combine on leadership program

Phoenix Business Journal

The San Jose, Calif.-based Pat Tillman Foundation partnered with Arizona State University to create a two-semester Leadership Through Action program at the university's W.P. Carey School of Business.

Beginning this fall, the foundation-ASU partnership will expand an existing leadership class offered at the Tempe campus. Students will participate in a collaborative setting with faculty and guests to study leadership techniques, develop skills and apply the information to create projects that benefit the community.

"The program feels like Pat," said foundation Executive Director and brother-in-law Alex Garwood. "He was never arrogant enough to tell a person what to do, but he would talk things out with you and help you find the right path on your own."

Once the program is established, the foundation will host a conference and share program details with other leaders across the country.
